For most people, “My Career” is the most played mode, where you have your own player and you get to choose what skills he has. Unfortunately “The Neighborhood,” where you play games with friends against other people, is not innovative at all. In fact, it is the exact same as last year.

This time, developer 2K Games introduced Pro-Am 3 v 3, which is a ranked mode where you create your team and climb the ranks with your friends. This is great if you have problems getting games in the neighborhood, so it is a nice addition. The ranks come by playing online games and the rewards are much better than in the past.

In general, the gameplay is balanced, which is great for casuals, but with so much balance, it is tough for a hardcore player. I think the gameplay is bland and doesn’t require as much skill to win as in the past.

Finally, the servers are the worst in any triple A game. They hinder the gaming experience, and there hasn’t been an effort to fix it.. 2K is one of the most played games, and the player base is rapidly growing. 2K Games needs to add more developers to address the server problem, so if you are someone who enjoys smooth gameplay, this is probably not for you.

Overall, this game lacks innovation for the fans that play the game every year. If you are a basketball fan and have never played before, this game is great with its balanced gameplay and countless content for casuals, but if you have been playing for a while, the game may not be worth it.

That being said, the game is always on sale and you can acquire it on the Xbox game pass if you want to try it. It is a good game that won’t break the bank if you want some casual play.
