Mulling over Mount Michael’s Mullets
If you liked the mullets in the ‘80s, good news: they’re back! The hairstyle has been a craze on social media lately and was recently named the “most requested hairstyle of 2021.” The mullet has even made its way to Mount Michael’s campus, and many students are fully embracing the “business in the front, party in the back” look. Students like Peter Gates ‘22, Ben Rempe ‘22 and Taggart Crouse ‘23 all currently have mullets.

Why did you decide to get a mullet?
I first tried the mullet look out sophomore year. During online school, my hair got very long, and I thought it would be funny to get one. I have gotten one every year since.
Did anyone in particular inspire you to get a mullet?
My uncle had one in high school, and it ended up being in his senior photos. I saw it, and I thought it would make him laugh if I tried out the look.
How long do you plan on keeping your mullet?
I plan to keep mine through the summer, and I’m not sure if I’ll keep it in college.

I like wearing a hat with it because I look stupid without one.
