Dinosaurs. Dinosaurs were real. Cryptids aren’t. My calling has always been to write about these dinos, so I’m back at it with a Mr. Mohs recommendation.
The Velociraptor is a dinosaur that everyone knows of, but nobody knows about. Confused? You should be. Everybody knows about the “velociraptors” in the movies, but spoiler alert, they aren’t even based on the real thing. Movies like Jurassic Park have used the Deinonychus as inspiration, as it is bigger and more aggressive. However, they went with the name Velociraptor as it is easier to say. So, prepare to be disappointed by the real dino. The velociraptor had feathers, not scaly skin. It was also around the size of big chicken, just two feet tall and six feet long. Another disappointing fact: it could be outrun by a small child. This dino does have some characteristics from movies that check out. Many believe that this is one of if not the smartest dinosaur out there. It had quite a big head compared to the rest of its body. Also, Velociraptors had “sickle-like” claws about 3 inches long, which were used to slash and disembowel prey. I’m sorry if I just ruined your childhood, but people need to know. Maybe one day the true Velociraptor won’t be just seen as a cheap off brand product from your local Walmart.
