Mount Michael Benedictine is known for being one of the most difficult schools in the state. Its demanding schedule and rigorous tests can leave almost anybody in academic trouble.
However, a good samaritan has stepped up to the plate. Peter Haas, a current junior at The Mount, has made it his duty to combat the ever-growing pressure. With the purchase of Quizlet Premium, Haas uses his limited free time to create study tools for all students.
“Right after school I divulge into a plethora of Quizlet creations, as I update them every day with the new notes we may have taken,” Haas said.
Haas came up with the idea his freshman year, seeing the struggle-bussing of his fellow classmates.
“I was inspired by my class, seeing a lack of studying. One day, I decided to create a Quizlet, and by some chance, that day will now go down in class of 2025 history.”
Since then, Haas has never looked back. He has completed over 100 Quizlets to date. His continuous work has not gone unnoticed, however. The site awarded him with the title “Top Creator on Quizlet” which sits under his name on the site. This prestigious award is determined by the number of sets and number of views per set compared to those of other Quizlet users.
“It is one of my greatest accomplishments to this day,” Haas explains.
In addition, according to Haas, he is hitting two birds with one stone with his Quizlet making.
“It helps me study making them, but benefits everyone else in their studying ventures.”
This everyday editing and creating of Quizlets is demanding work, taking up much of Haas’ free time. His biggest Quizlet set contained over 700 terms. However, Haas doesn’t let his hobby affect his social life.
“They do not take as long to create anymore and I have created a system that works for me to get them done efficiently, and it works for everybody else as well.”
Haas has grown popular over the years from his toils, which has helped him land a spot in the student council as Class President, respectfully. Nevertheless, he credits his success and daily quizlet-making to his Mount Michael companions.
“The appreciation my fellow peers show for these study tools means very much to me and it motivates me to continue creating them.”
Haas’ commitment to the Benedictine value of service is an inspiration for all people to lend a helping hand to those in need. His selfless work has helped many students with their studies and will continue to do so for the years to come.
