Living in a very isolated area where no other species of bear is found, the polar bear is native to the Arctic. Enduring the icy weather is what these bears are designed to do. With a double layered undercoat keeping them warm, these bears survive temperatures as low as -40 degrees fahrenheit. However, this is not a problem for these bears. The polar bear can sustain a healthy life of up to 25 to 30 years.
