Harry Potter: Which Wizarding Watch Wins?

Harry+Potter%3A+Which+Wizarding+Watch+Wins%3F

For ages the Harry Potter movies have been beloved throughout the world. Based on the
books from author J.K Rowling, these movies have established themselves as some of the best
cinematic masterpieces to hit the big screen over the past 30 years.
There has always been a debate on which movie from this eight film series was worthy of
the title, the best movie. I will be answering this long debated question with my humble, but
educated opinion.
8.Taking the title of the worst Harry Potter movie is “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s
Stone.” This movie is the first of the series and casts the youngest version of the characters.
Harry starts off by leaving his abusive aunt and uncle to go to a wizarding school named
Hogwarts. Honestly, the caliber of this movie is just inferior in every way to the movies that
came after it. The story line was just flat out boring and there were little to no fight scenes. The
only bright spot of this movie is the introduction of the beloved character, Hagrid. Some people
like this movie because it introduces them to the world of Harry Potter that most know and love.
But, that is not enough to rank it any higher than last on this list.
7.The Title of the second to worst movie goes to “Harry Potter and the Chamber of
Secrets.” This movie was all over the place in terms of its story line. We follow Harry Potter as
he receives a mysterious journal under the name of a former student, Tom Riddle. The graphics
in this movie were mediocre, at best. The characters were just there and took a backseat to Harry
Potter. We learn a little about Harry’s past and learn that he can speak snake tongue, which
basically means he can talk to any reptilian creature and understand them like a second language.
Finally, with probably the only interesting part of this movie, we see that Tom Riddle is actually
Lord Voldemort and he was the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets wreaking havoc using a
massive serpent. Overall, this movie was quite boring and did not make much sense in the actual
story line other than revealing Voldemort’s identity.
6. Coming in at number six is “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” In this movie,
Harry is put in a predicament for using magic outside of school to protect his cousin from a death
eater. He is sent to the ministry and we get a first look at possibly the most annoying and worst
character of all time, Dolores Umbridge. She is tyrannical headmistress of Hogwarts and
successor to Dumbledore. The movie itself, in my opinion, was not bad, but professor Umbridge,
who was a grump, ruined the entire movie. Plus, Sirius Black, who was introduced in Prisoner of
Azkaban, is killed off by Bellatrix LeStrange. The combination of these tragedies just ruined the
movie for me. However, I did think it was very cool to finally see the death eaters in action and I
loved seeing that professor Umbridge got what she deserved by being carried away by mythical
creatures of the forest for disturbing the peace.
5. Taking the number five spot is “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.” This movie
in my opinion is a background movie. We learn about Voldemort and his past, though this is
interesting, this movie lacks the element of action. We also learn how Harry will plan to defeat
the Dark Lord by destroying the seven Horcruxes that contain parts of his “immortality”, once he
destroys these he will make Voldemort mortal and can kill him. On another note, Ron and
Hermoine play no part in this movie and are arguing over issues of feeling for eachother, which
served absolutely no purpose to the actual movie. Overall, this movie just sets the scene for the
final two movies of the series and serves no other purpose other than to progress the plot. The
real reason why this movie is terrible is because of Dumbledore’s death at the hands of Professor
Snape in a very sad scene. Plus, Bellatrix LeStrange was an absolute menace throughout the
entire movie, but played no major part in the actual plot.
4.The Title of the fourth best movie is taken by “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of
Azkaban.” I personally enjoyed this movie for the cinematics. Though it was a background
movie similar to the Half Blood Prince, it explains how Harry Potter’s parents died and finally
gives us a real look into the tragic incident. This film brings a wide variety of characters to the
forefront rather than just Harry Potter, most notably, Sirius Black. I also really enjoyed the
quidditch games that ensued in this movie, which added some much needed action. Though it
was a good movie, it also had some flaws. For example, Hagrid was devastated after Draco
Malfoy was attacked by his beloved hippogryph, Buckbeak. Though he is saved later in the
movie, it was still very heartbreaking to see one of the most likable characters so sad.
3. Coming in at number three is “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part1.” This
movie was very well written in terms of story line and did very well to set up for the final movie.
We learn how Harry Potter is going to search for, and destroy Voldemort’s previously mentioned
horcruxes. Throughout this movie, we meet a lot of new characters while also learning more
about the old. We finally see Harry Potter, who can now see Voldemort’s thoughts, acting on his
own without the help of Dumbledore. I really enjoyed the cinematography in this movie and
especially the story that this movie tells. The only reason why this movie is at the number three
spot is because Dobby the house elf, a fan favorite, was killed at the hands of Bellatrix Lestrange
who, by this point, was becoming annoying.
2.Taking the number two spot is “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2.” This
movie thoroughly wraps up the series with the perfect amount of action and storyline. Harry
Potter is finally ready to confront Lord Voldemort in the “Final Battle,” but before he can do this,
he has to destroy the rest of the horcruxes. This movie embodies Harry Potter’s character and
does not disappoint when it comes to plot twists. I really enjoyed the creativity of this movie and
it constantly kept me interested. As a Harry Potter fan, I loved all of the gray areas that were
filled in this movie and it left no loose ends.. The only reason why this movie takes the number
two spot, is because of what happens to the Elder wand and the fate of Severus Snape. But it gets
massive points from me for finally killing off Bellatrix LeStrange and ending her run of
menacing behavior.
1.Taking the spot of the Best Harry Potter Movie of all time is the fourth movie of the
series, “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” In this movie, Hogwarts invites the other wizarding
schools to participate in the wizarding cup which is a very prestigious wizarding award among
all the wizarding schools. This movie is top tier for a multitude of reasons. For one, the main
characters are finally grown up so everything comes full circle. We also finally get a fresh look
at Voldemort, as he is resurrected through the kidnapping of Harry Potter. I personally enjoyed
watching this movie and as a kid, I would watch it on repeat. The story is almost perfectly
written and the graphics are absolutely amazing. Finally, it provides plenty of teasers and
foreshadows the Half Blood Prince. The attention to detail in this movie was absolutely crazy
and it really helps to not only progress the story, but also to interest the critics. The only part
about this movie that I did not enjoy, was the killing of Cedric Diggory, a new character who did
not deserve to die as soon as he did.
